[Calvary Chapel] 2017-01-26 - Peace in Trials

- - - - - - -

John 16:33 [Jesus speaking] These things I have spoken to you that in Me, you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

A few of us here have been through difficulties of varying degrees. Jan and Richard struggled through a major medical problem is the most known of the issues. It was no small matter to be sure. Others have shared their struggles and their hearts as they moved through storms during the past year. God has been faithful.

The answer is not always what we would choose. A friend of mine from college has been diagnosed with stage four liver disease. He is dying and only a miracle would change that at this point. Please pray for B along with his friends and family. Thank you.

Even in this there is grace. The initial diagnosis left B with a few days to live. That was roughly ten days ago. He has been given time to put his affairs in order, say the things to people he wants to say, etc. I am thankful for that kindness the Lord has shown.

The other side of that coin is for people who feel that they have done something or things that are unforgivable. God would not hear them no matter how sincere their plea would be. John 6:37 promises that if we come to Jesus humble and seeking to be forgiven He will not turn them away. No matter what you've done or what your situation is God will hear your honest call for help. He will make you a member of His family and walk with you through whatever storm of life you're in. If you have questions, please write any of us here, or contact your local Pastor.

Think about it. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Isaiah 59:1

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short
That it cannot save;
Nor is His ear so dull
That it cannot hear.

Grace & Peace,
