[CF Devotionals] 2016-12-31 - After Christmas

New Years Eve ~ 2016

- - - - - - -

Merchandise stores, grocery stores, and pharmacies start decorating for Christmas immediately after Halloween. Some radio stations switch to all-Christmas music at the same time. The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year as people are buying Christmas presents.Christmas parties and celebrations start early in December. The Christmas holiday build-up lasts for weeks. And then Christmas arrives. Candelight Christmas services are held. The presents are opened. Christmas guests go home. The Christmas tree comes down. Christmas is over.

Christmas is quickly forgotten. But as followers of Christ, we should celebrate Christmas year-round. We should remember and celebrate the Good News of the Gospel. Jesus came to Earth to free us from our sins and we have new lives as a result. As the angel told the shepherds, "I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10-11)

Are you celebrating the Good News all year round?
