[Calvary Chapel] 2016-11-17 - Bright New World

This is a song that I believe was authored in the 1970's. Yes kids, we had music back then and radios, and these things called LP (long play) records made of vinyl. Ask your parents. They might just pull one out of a box in a closet.

I have searched and can not find the author, copyright, etc. If someone can provide that information I would be very grateful. I can find the recordings by different artists and groups, but none provide the details to credit the authors and publishers.

I very much enjoy music and singing. Lyrics are really important to me. There are songs that tell stories like Beautiful to Me sung by Don Francisco about 1981. The song tells the story of the woman who bursts into the room where Jesus was the guest of one of the local Pharisees who had invited Jesus home for dinner. (Luke 7:36-50) The story is a personal favorite of mine from the Bible. The singer becomes a story telling minstrel and the song makes the details so memorable.

This song is similar in that it tells a story. This one is from the future. We all long for peace, the end of hunger, disease and war. Sadly that day will not be accomplished by mankind. For all of our potential this desire will not happen until the Lord returns folding back the sky and returning to Earth to rule and reign.

The lyrics should be an encouragement to all who have given their lives to Christ as Savior and Lord. It is a call to those who do not believe that there is more to this life that what we see, touch and smell. There is a God Who loves us and has our best interests at heart at all times. This is true even when we may not see that hope and life is indeed difficult. I have lost friends to cancer and disease, but I know where they are and that they are waiting for the day we are all home.

I leave this note of encouragement to bolster your day.

Bright New World

Someday a bright new wave will break upon the shore
And there will be no sickness
No more crying, no more war
And little children never will grow hungry anymore
And there will be a bright new morning over there
There'll be a bright new world for us to share

Someday there'll be an end to unkind words and cruel
And the man who said there is no God will know he is a fool
And peace will be the way of life with love the only rule
And there will be a bright new morning over there
There'll be a bright new world for us to share

Someday we know not when the time on earth is done
And those redeemed from every land will all become as one

Voices of all ages praising God the three in one
And there will be a bright new morning over there
There'll be a bright new world for us to share

Someday a bright new wave will break upon the shore
And there will be no sickness
No more crying, no more war
And little children never will grow hungry anymore
And there will be a bright new morning over there
There'll be a bright new world for us to share
New world for us to share
No more crying

Lord Jesus - Thank You for providing a glimpse that fills we who are Your children with hope for that day when everything will be the way You have always intended it to be. All the things we struggle to overcome will be whisked away. In the mean time we are to occupy until You return sharing the good news that leads up to this future day. Amen.

Grace & Peace,
Mike
