Continuing to celebrate CF's 20th year in the devotionals ministry, tonight we present a "passages only" devotional from five years ago.

This verse exemplifies what people should hear when we open our mouths regarding others:

Ephesians 4:29 No rotten talk should come from your mouth, but only what is good for the building up of someone in need, in order to give grace to those who hear.

2 Corinthians 12:20
For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and I may not be found by you to be what you want; there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.

Romans 1:28 And because they did not think it worthwhile to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. 29 They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, disputes, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents.

Proverbs 16:28
A contrary man spreads conflict, and a gossip separates friends.

Proverbs 11:13
A gossip goes around revealing a secret, but the trustworthy keeps a confidence.
