2016-11-14 - Say that Again?
Television writers weren't the first to create the catchphrase. There are several popular phrases from the Bible that we still use today. May we remember these nuggets of good advice.
- Rise and shine. (Isaiah 60:1 ESV)
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
- Safe and sound. (Luke 15:27)
Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’
- The blind leading the blind. (Matthew 15:14 ESV)
Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
- A leopard doesn't change his spots. (Jeremiah 13:23 ESV)
Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? Then also you can do good who are accustomed to do evil.
Lord, Thank You that we find You everywhere. May there be an opening where we can share Your light with those that are lost and not searching for You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
