Luke 8:1 --"After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God."
The Gospel of Luke is full of examples of Jesus' healings of many people. In Chapter 7, there are the examples of the healing of the centurion's servant and the widow's son. Jesus changed many lives with His healing touch. The first verse in Chapter 8, however, shows what was important to Jesus--proclaiming the good news. Jesus wanted those that heard Him to know the good news--the Gospel. Jesus wanted His listeners to know that God loved them, and had sent Him to save them from their sins. Jesus wanted not only to heal their physical illnesses; he also wanted to heal their sinful hearts.
Today, as Christians, we are called to spread the Good News of Jesus. We are to tell others that Jesus came to heal their hearts.
