Today we look at the brief Biblical passage about Enocha man who walked with God. In Genesis Chapter 5 there is a list of men who "lived" and "died." Some of these individuals have a short sentence about their lives. Others merely merit a brief mention of their age and their descendants. Enoch, however, didn't merely "live." Enoch "walked with God." And, furthermore, Enoch didn't "die" like the others in Chapter 5. Enoch "walked no more, because God took him away."
How does one "walk with God?" First, one must believe that God exists and that He loves and cares for you. God has provided us with a book of instruction in how He wants us to live. And, in the Bible, there are many examples of how to "walk with God." We are to follow His commands. We are to love our neighbors. We are invited to talk with God through prayer. We are to put our trust in Him. Walking with God is a daily process.
How is your "walk with God" going? Are there bumps along the path? Look at those bumps, or trials, as opportunities to trust in God's goodness and sovereignty. Use these rough spots along the road, to rely on God and grow closer to Him. And, as God has told us through the prophet Isaiah, "they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:30).
