2016-06-15 - Timing
I walked out into our backyard a few nights ago, and saw a young opossum quickly scurrying under our shed. Even a small one is larger than our Ms. Barbie (Miniature Dachshund, so in her weakened stage of life with deafness and near blindness, I have since been very cautious when out in the yard - in case of our visitor Marsupial returns. I think the incident was a reminder of how timing can be quite important
Moments are precious. We don’t always understand God’s timing when we see things like the opossum, meeting certain people at specific times in our lives - and most especially for me - the waiting for God’s perfect timing to bring things to fruition in our own lives and the lives of others close to us. Intellectually, it’s often easy to realize things line up a certain way for a reason, yet wondering can sometimes leave us missing out in some of those moments which were given to us specifically to teach us, deepen our understanding of things that we will need to better serve His purpose. So often, when I become weary of parts of the journey that sadden me, I have to remind myself to lean on him, and to remember He will always show up. His timing is perfect. I’m tired, but so grateful.
“And let us not be weary in welldoing: for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9 KJV)
