Willow Creek Association 2016-05-24 - Where is God?

- - - - - -

Psalm 62:8 (NLT)
O my people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
for God is our refuge.

During natural disasters - or unnatural, for that matter - the age-old question arises, where is God in this? I’m pretty much lost for words, in the wake of the latest disasters around the World. I’m not lost for prayers, for those impacted.

Where is God in all this? I think He is in the aftermath of tragedy. He is in the people that are helping to rescue, search and find. He is in the medical and other personnel helping the victims. He has not gone anywhere. He is there. He is in the collective response of people around the globe. Yes, He is there.

Nahum said it best, “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” (Nahum 1:7 NIV) I’m sad … but not too sad to pray. So, pray my friends … pray to whoever you chose to call God, just pray.
