2016-05-21 - What Would We Say?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
Dear Father, Thank You for delivering me and placing me in Christ Jesus. I admit at times, I have tried to get my needs met through people, achievements, possessions, and other means, instead of looking to You. I now commit my life unconditionally into Your hands. I surrender all my expectations, and get out of the way, so You can make me into the kind of person You want me to be.
I tend to take control of things, not because I want to, and gladly relinquish that control to You. It is Yours, anyway. Lord, I admit to being afraid that now something terrible, worse than has happened to me and my family in the past will happen, now that I am freely giving up control and putting an end to worry. Please make the Scripture real, that says You will not forsake me. You will protect me.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV)
You tell me not to worry, so put the right thoughts in my brain, and give me a mind at peace. You are the only One who can do this, and I am counting on You. I give You my mind. Show up and take over the thoughts that make me unusable. I give You all my fears, doubts and anxieties. Show me what it is like, to live without them.
I am ready to not just read a bunch of Scriptures that says You will do this and this, when I have faith in You. I am ready to see the results, in regard to the bondage of anxiety and fear. I choose to believe that Christ is my life, my power and my identity. I thank You that in Christ, I am totally acceptable, and that all my needs are met by Him. I yield myself totally to Christ, to live His life through me. Glorify and manifest Your Son in me. I'm trusting You, in Your timing, to make this real, in my experiences. I choose to believe these truths, regardless of what my circumstances may be.
Thank You, Lord for Your presence and love.
