2015-02-27 - God's Strength
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. (Psalm 29:11 NIV)
If you saw me taking my daughter for a walk around the neighborhood the other day, it would appear I have things under control. Our trip outside was a chance to be in some fresh air and stretch our minds by searching for shapes and colors.
You may have missed the performance an hour earlier when I was trying to coax my daughter into a shopping cart and me trying not to look frazzled. What is my secret? Not a high-energy breakfast, special vitamins, or extra sleep. My secret is Jesus and realizing I am not supposed to have it all under control.
It makes things a little easier knowing God is in charge and it isn’t up to me to tackle life solo without the Lord's influence.
What is your current assignment? Do you love it or hate it? Perhaps the question isn’t do I like or dislike it but do I feel equipped to handle it. The only prerequisite is God’s strength. Christ gives me the strength to face anything. (Philippians 4:13) The Bible reassures us that God is more than capable of helping us.
