2015-11-28 - Bargains
The day after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. People rush to malls, shopping centers, and stores, to pick up bargains. Retailers offer low prices on certain items to attract buyers, and they hope that they will buy other, more expensive items. Some stores only have a few of the low-priced items, which sell quickly. The shopper is then left with the choice of buying a more costly product, or not buying one at all. Some people call this the "bait and switch" method.
Today, people are looking everywhere for bargains. What are we looking for in our spiritual lives? Are we looking for a low-priced item? Jesus offers us a bargain. He offers us forgiveness for our sins, daily guidance, and eternal life. What is the cost to us? He wants us to confess our sins and turn our lives over to Him. He has already paid the true price. He died on the Cross for our sins. There is no hidden cost or "bait and switch" here. All we need to do is accept His offer. If you haven't already, will you accept Him today?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
