2015-11-26 - Thanksgiving
Rev 7:11-12 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
Someday this mortal will put in immortality. There will be no more aches and pains, or tiredness. There will be no more sadness - reunited with friends and family at the feet of our Savior. Sin banished, hearts and minds as they were always intended to be.
The scene from the verses above will be reality unfolding right in front of us. Things we couldn't understand here will be clear.
Today we have have shadows of this reality. There are moments when we stop to spend a little time, and maybe a meal, with friends and loved ones. Some of those will be very simple while some are large gatherings. Some of these are holidays, and some are just when it can happen. Whether is it great or small I hope we can give thanks for what we have been given and who is with us, even if it is only in spirit.
In these moments remember the salvation that has been provided to us. Remember the debt that was paid on our behaves that we could never have repaid - paid in full by the blood of Christ Jesus.
Someday, we will be home.
1 Cor 13:12 (MSG) We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
Grace & Peace,
