2015-08-28 - Why Christianity?
The following question was posed to me, awhile back. Why do you think that Christianity is the only true religion?
After a lot of thought, a little research, and a lot of rewriting, the following is my answer to the question. In some religions, the gods were men, all of them are dead and their bones are still in the Earth, and their thoughts and deeds were attested to only by themselves.
Other religions say that they believe in the God of the Holy Bible, but they deny that Jesus was the Son of God and is part of the Triune God.
Christians on the other, hand believe that the God of the Bible consists of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. They also believe that Christ died for their sins (He was crucified) and that he was buried, and rose again (came out of the grave) three days later. This was authenticated by more than 500 people. This and all other actions and deeds of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are contained in the Holy Bible, which was written by as many as 40 different writers whose lives spanned approximately 2000 years.
There are other differences between Christianity and all other so-called religions; however, the main one, beside what is written above, is that other religions require good works or personal merit, in order for you to enter Heaven or achieve a higher level of existence. In other words, Christians believe that you have to earn your way to Heaven; however, in Christianity, salvation is a free gift from God the Father, through Jesus the Son.
In my personal opinion, Christianity is not only a religion, but it is also a way of life.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You, because although You are the Holy God, the Perfect God, my creator, and the Giver of all good things, yet You allow me - a sinner - to call You my God and Father. I also thank You for giving me eternal life in Heaven, through the sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ. I say this in the name Of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Amen
