2015-05-09 - Telling Others
Luke 8:38-39 "The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with Him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, "Return home, and tell how much God has done for you." So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him."
In Luke 8:26-39, we find the story of a demon-possessed man who was healed by Jesus. This man had been suffering for a long time, and was grateful to Jesus for healing him. The people of the region reacted by expressing fear - and by asking Jesus to leave. The man, whom Jesus had healed, asked to go along with Jesus. Luke tells us that he begged to go along with Jesus. But Jesus had clear instructions, saying, "Return home, and tell how much God has done for you."
Jesus is giving us the same instructions today. We are to share the Good News of Jesus with others. Sometimes, the best way to tell others about Jesus, is to explain what Jesus has done in our lives. When we do this, we are sharing the Gospel in a personal way. How can you share, or how have you shared, the Gospel in a personal way?
