2015-03-16 - What Would Jubal Say?
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. (Psalm 92:1-3)
I come from an industrious family. My older brother Jabal is the father of tent dwellers and livestock owners, and my half-brother Tubal-Cain was an instructor for all metal craftsmen.
I was the first to play the flute and the harp. God supplied grace and blessing for doing my work. I dedicated my music to Him, so it would flourish and prosper.
I want people's lives to be impacted when they hear one of my melodies. Not for vanity's sake, but as a means to connect with the Lord. He will work through me and in me. The Lord is faithful and an encouraging audience. His applause is better than man's, anyway.
Practicing on my musical instruments isn't always easy, and there are days I want to take a long break, but I know I will reap a harvest of blessing, if I don't give up.
Lord, Strengthen my skills and talents to be more effective. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
