2014-04-23 - Vantage Point
There is a great view of a mountain, from our back yard. Up on Read Mountain, off to the right side of our vantage point, is a house nestled in a spot that must see sunrise every morning - because I can see it peek up behind it. There's also a tree that appears to be shaped sort of like what might be a reversed and upside-down bottom part of the letter J. I noticed, when I was in another part of town coming home, that from a different vantage point, I could not even see that tree at all. It was almost as though it were invisible. Have you ever felt invisible? I have at times.
The good news is that God never thinks of us as invisible. The Bible says that:
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.(Matthew 10:30 KJV)
As God did with Jeremiah, he formed each of us specifically. Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:4-6 KJV)
And God wants us to be part of him, so we're always visible to him - at whatever place we might be or feel, at any given moment. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will (Ephesians 1:5). I remind myself of this truth at times I might feel dejected or invisible. I hope you can find comfort in it, as well.
