1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres. Love never fails.

The Bible is the story of God's love for us. God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die for our sins. The Bible tells us that we are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deuteronomy 6:5, NIV)

God has also given us a special love for one another. In the beginning, God created Adam. God recognized that Adam should not live alone, and created Eve as his companion. God said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." (Genesis 2:24, NIV) Adam and Eve spent their lives together, experiencing both good and bad.

The Bible is full of the stories of married love--Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and Rachel. These couples are just a few examples of how love was and is expressed between couples. They were committed to each other and sought the best for each other. Their love for each other was unconditional. Their love survived tough times. Their love perservered.

We can experience the same love today. Take some time today to tell your wife, husband, girlfriend, or boyfriend just how much you love them.

Today I intend to tell my wife, Jan, how special she is to m,e and how much I love her. Remember, "love never fails."
