[CF Devotionals] 2014-02-06 - Morning Manna

[CF Devotionals]

Lam 3:21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

This promise was penned many centuries ago and it is still as true to day as it was the day it was originally written. I know I am guilty of not always taking this to heart. The morning comes with not enough rest, or just not feeling so good. It is easy to allow that fog of mortal life block off an amazing truth that God is utterly faithful to us.

This is true even when we are not so faithful. When it is easier to see the problems than the promises it is we who lose out. When we are in a terrible rush because we have slept through our alarm, or failed to set the night before, the grace prepared for us that morning sits like manna that was not picked up and it dissolves away. We rob ourselves of the strong support as we walk through difficult times, and the reminders that He is always with us - in good times and in trials.

The best news is that God is very patient with His children - us. In His infinite love new blessings are waiting for us daily without fail. If it is raining or snowing it makes no difference. Thank the Lord for this day and look forward to the good things that will be stored in it - if we are willing to look for them. They are often hidden in everyday little miracles and blessings we take for granted.

Take a minute to offer a greeting to the Lord in the morning. See what He has for you this day.

Grace & Peace,
Mike
