2013-12-28 - Resolutions for
New Year Resolutions
As New Year's Day approaches, many people make resolutions for the upcoming
year. A quick search of the internet shows that some of the most common
resolutions are to eat healthily and exercise more, to quit smoking, to drink
less, to learn something new, and to save more money. People often start
off the year with good intentions of keeping their resolutions, but most
are unlikely to follow through beyond a week or a month.
As Christians, what are some resolutions we could make for the New Year?
We could commit to read the Bible daily. There are many Bible-reading plans
available in print and on the internet. Another resolution could be to pray
daily. Our daily prayer doesn't have to be lengthy or fancy. We just need
to talk to God. Regular church attendance could be a goal. We could pledge
to serve others in some concrete method. Giving a used coat to a shelter
could be an example. As you can see, these are just a few of the New Year's
resolutions that we could make as Christians.
What will your resolutions be in 2014?
Happy New Year
