2012-11-05 - What Would Titus Say?
In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. (2 Corinthians 7:13)
I told Paul of the Corinthian Christ followers' repentance and their concern for him. This refreshed Paul. He was rough in his assessment of the church's foolishness and fights. Paul did not sugar coat the truth, for he wanted to open the congregation's eyes to their wrong and destructive behavior. He didn't regret chastising them; Paul regretted that they needed chastising.
Paul saw how happy I was after spending time with the congregation. He was glad they gave me such a pleasant and welcoming visit. By seeing my countenance personally, it gave Paul confidence in the Corinthian congregations.
Thank You God, for pointing out the places where I need to grow. You are my God, and You love me, and I adore You, my Lord! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
