2012-10-15 - What Would Pharaoh Say?
So Pharaoh summoned Abram. "What have you done to me?" he said. "Why didn't you tell me she was your wife?" (Genesis 12:18)
I was the innocent victim. If I knew Sarai was Abram's wife, or any man's wife, I would never have thought about her romantically and brought her into my palace. I felt that I was taken advantage of. I see Abram wanting to protect himself; after all, Sarai is a very beautiful woman.
I treated Abram extremely well, providing everything and anything that he desired, as he masked as Sarai's brother. This is the thanks I get? God's vengeance came upon me and my house with a plague. I'm not the one who lied. Why not go after Abram and Sarai? I set things right, and sent Sarai back to Abram so they could be on their way. I just wanted to get the matter behind me. I wanted life back to the way it was.
Lord, Let me no longer live a charade. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
What masks are you wearing?
