2012-06-25 - What Would a Judge Say?
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? (Luke 18:7)
I suppose part of being a judge is bringing some of your work home with you. That was no reason for this woman to pester me at my house. How did she find my address, anyway? I was not a praying man, nor do I hold a great deal of respect for the human race, so I wasn't one to wish or hope for things. This time I really hoped the annoying woman would leave me alone and would disappear from my front door. I did not like the fact that she was controlling my life!
What must the neighbors think about this strange lady constantly pounding at my door? This rude widow kept coming to my home and asking me to vindicate her in a dispute she was having. She needed to make this request during normal business hours. Her actions were totally inappropriate. It would be unprofessional of me to dignify her persistence with a response. But I did; her persistence left me no choice. The woman wouldn't stop showing up at my home.
Just to stop the annoyance, I made sure she would get justice. If I didn't, who knows how long she would keep bothering me.
Lord, You listen and defend us. Thank You for not turning us away. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
