2012-05-23 - What Would the Queen of Sheba Say?
Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her. (1 Kings 10:3)
I admit at first I was skeptical. I did not believe what I was hearing. I couldn't fathom that King Solomon's wisdom was all that superior. I was determined to see for myself, instead of taking people's word for it.
I had lots of questions and was told he had the answers. So I traveled by camel from my homeland to Jerusalem, to talk to him. Camels are adapted for travel, with their padded feet, muscular body, and their fat-storing hump.
I found Solomon to be a righteous man. He answered all my questions. Solomon was patient to explain things, and did not just give me one-word answers. I will say the reports concerning his wisdom are not exaggerated; in fact, they are modest, for Solomon is wealthier and more knowledgeable than the reports give him credit for.
Before I returned home, I offered Solomon a gift of gold, a great amount of spices, and precious stones for his time.
Lord, May I always go to You with my questions and concerns. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
