2012-02-27 - What Would Bildad Say?
So are the ways of all who forget God; and the hope of the godless shall perish. For his confidence breaks, and [the object of] his trust is a spider's web. He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold fast to it, but it shall not last. (Job 8:13-15)
How long will Job keep this depressing mantra? He keeps telling us that his life is miserable and not worth living.
Experience, experience, experience. Look at the lives of people from the past and they will tell you how to succeed and what causes failure, is what I advise. It would do Job good to take his eyes off himself and use history as a guide, a reference. Recalling the past should remind Job that without God's presence there is no hope.
Look at a man who puts his trust in something other than God, he is unstable. An evildoer isn't going to prosper, but God does not cast away a good man. He won't turn His back on those who seek Him. I pray Job will take heed to my advice before it is too late.
Lord, Help me. I have exhausted all other resources and You are my last resort. I now know You should be the first place I turn. Please fix the disarray that I am in. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
