2012-01-01 - The Unreturnable Gift
According to the news media, the day after Christmas was the busiest day for retailers for gift returns. People were flooding the stores to return Christmas gifts which they were dissatisfied with, for whatever reason. The gift recipients wanted store credit, cash, or another product. The stores have made it easy to return gifts.
At Christmas, we celebrate the gift of a Savior. God sent his only Son to a world living in sin and disobedience. Jesus came as the Messiah. And yet He was rejected and crucified. The gift was returned as unwanted. But Jesus was resurrected on Easter morning. The gift of salvation was unreturnable. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) Have you accepted the unreturnable Gift of Salvation?
