[CF Devotionals] 2010-07-13 - End-Game Strategy

Scrabble Series ~ Part 4

Like my favorite baseball team, I can start out a game with a bang, then have an ever-widening lead, only to lose in the last innings. By the end of a game, most of the board space is taken up; there are few free letters upon which to build. You might find a “p” with which to pair a “u” etc. But if you are stuck with a v, w etc., you may lose a game, because of the unused letters you have to turn back in. It’s all well and good to play well during the game, but if you have poor end game strategy, you won’t get the results you desire.

It’s the same way with the Christian life. We can go to church faithfully every Sunday, live “good” lives – committing no crimes, being ethical at work/school etc. But if we don’t have a personal belief in Christ as Savior, none of that will help us with our “end game.” Do you have that relationship with Christ? If not, and you would like one, please speak to your pastor – or write Geoff (GKRAGEN@aol.com), Adam (adam@cfdevotionals.org) Mike (mhoskins@cfdevotionals.org), Lisa (lisacfdev@cfdevotionals.org) or myself, and we’ll be glad to help you.
