2010-05-13 - God Sees
Matt 6:4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. (NASB)
Have you ever been misunderstood or misjudged?
It happens to us all. Actions or words are misread, or more is read into them than is really there. Even if it comes from someone who doesn't know us well it is disappointing. If it is someone who should know us better it can be very painful. It happened to someone I know very well recently. Let's call this person Mr. A. He was taken to task by someone who should know him better than to believe what they were told by others who also do not know Mr A. well. The cutting harsh words given to Mr A. were personally devastating. He may have lost a friend through no fault of his own.
I urge everyone to not be quick to judge or take offense. I include myself in this. God knows our intentions of the hearts of men. We can make no such claim with certainty. It will be a sad sad day for the accuser of Mr A. on the day they realize that Mr A. was innocent of the accusations raised against him. There will be words of forgiveness if I know Mr A., but there will also be the realization of the needless separation and loss. It may not be until they are home in Heaven that this is understood. The small comforts you can take when you have been misjudged is that you know in your heart of hearts that you are innocent, and that you will be vindicated even if only after this life is over.
If something doesn't seem reasonable, then it probably isn't. Pray and be patient. Talk to the Mr A. in your life. If there is a problem that can be resolved you will have saved your friendship, business partnership or marriage. If there is a problem does their concern have merit?
The Apostle John urged the church to love one another. We are warned against divisions and fractious arguments. Most of the people I know that I consider to have wisdom are patient and give thought to something before they speak or ask questions. They are decline gossip or third-party information. If something is given to them in confidence it is held in strict confidence. Because of these qualities they are often people of responsibility. They are people that others seek out when they need advice.
Know that God sees the heart - yours and mine.
Job 23:10-11 "But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11 "My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. (NASB)
