2009-04-13 - Thank You, Jesus for
Easter
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I
know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he
has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." Matthew
28:5-6 NIV
Thank you. Merci. Gracias. Three different words in three different languages,
each meaning the same thing: gratitude, appreciation, and awe.
It's easy to thank a person for a birthday present or a get-well card, but
how do we thank someone who was innocently crucified on our behalf? What
words can measure up?
Jesus knew what His fate would be that horrendous day at Golgatha. He also
knew He would reign victoriously.
Thankfully, the Lord isn't asking us for a lofty thank-you note or speech,
He is just asking for a commitment and reference to Him.
Lord, Thank You for making me a whole person and loving
me. May I begin to walk the life You died to give me. In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
What does Jesus' kind deed actually mean to you? How does His love affect
your life?
