2009-04-06 - My Savior and
Friend
Psalm
121:1-8
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of Heaven and Earth.
He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber;
(Psalm 121:2-3 NIV)
At first glance, the path is small and narrow. But at each step, it grows
larger and smoother like God's love for us. Sometimes the path ahead becomes
rocky and bleak. Right at our feet is God, in case we should fall.
God will always be there in times of trouble; He's here right now. Give Him
your troubles, and He will carry you through. Just reach out your hand; He's
waiting.
When I need patience, I find myself looking up toward Heaven, past the blue
skies, where the clouds join angels for a lifetime. Even a tint of His holy
view can change a situation. Depending on God for direction doesn't have
to be a dull process; it can be joyful and happy. The pressure is lifted,
when we know the right process to follow, God's.
God is my savior and friend. He picks me up in times of trouble and is always
glad to be there to share in my joys or sadness. I am safe from any harm
or worry, for I know He is my protection. He guides me when the pressure
is too great to bear. I understand things will not always go my way, so that
is the time I sit down and pray. I am so glad God is a part of my life. I
feel I can talk to Him about anything, and that He will listen. Even when
difficulties disturb my life, God brings a solution. I need to start counting
my blessings and not the inconveniences. He is the first person I talk to,
as I awaken to the new day.
Lord, Your warm and gentle presence is enough to get
me through. Nothing I value on earth compares to Your brilliance and sincerity.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
