2008-08-12 - Fear

Fear sometimes keeps us from doing what we ought to do. I hope these verses will give you some food to chew on and thoughts to dwell upon today.

1 John 4:18a - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear

1 John 4:8b - God is love.

John 6:20 - But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

Psalms 27:1 - The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 13:5b-6 - For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

So what are you afraid of? What is keeping you from reaching your full God given potential? What is keeping you from accomplishing the task God has given you? Let us cast down every fear and and all the other weights that beset us. Let us keep our eyes on the prize and let us run the race with boldness and courage knowing that God is on our side.

God, Reveal to me what you want me to do and give mne the boldness to step up to the plate and do it with every fiber of my being. I surrender my all to you. It is yours. I will strive to live by your power without fear this day. Amen
