2008-01-01 - Time Passes
As the New Year begins, we, in the United States, have many primaries to
look forward to. They will lead up to a presidential election in eleven months.
I do not know all the facts about each candidate so I still have some homework
to do. My mind began to think of these elections and the end of another year
when a preacher recently used the sixth chapter of Isaiah as his text.
Isaiah 6:1 - In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also
the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled
the temple.
As 2007 dies, God still reigns. Isn't that good news? When King Uzziah died,
God still reigned. Thousands of years later when George W. Bush steps down
as President and someone else takes over, God will still reign. God is still
sovereign. He has always been the Lord of lords and King of kings and always
will be. That is great news.
As we enter 2008, God reigns. Will you acknowledge his reign and live for
him or will you live for yourself until you too die? Either way God will
still reign.
