2007-11-13 - Jordan's Cup
I asked Jordan what he meant by the word "cup" on his impossible list. He
said he didn't remember but that it was probably that he wanted a cup of
something to drink. By now his prayers have been answered several times over
but still that must have been some thirst he had. I mean he prayed to God
about it thinking it was an impossible thing.
Do you thirst for anything like that? We ought to thirst after the things
of God.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants
for you, O God. (Psalm 42:1)
A deer thirsts after water as a basic need but
also because when hunted it can lose its scent in it. The water nourishes
and provides safety. Isn't God like that? Do you thirst after him?
God I thirst for you. Give me a cup of you and fill it up. May the cup of
my life always be overflowing with your goodness. Amen
