2007-07-02 - Applause for the Lord

The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises." (Ecclesiastes 1:5 NIV)

Today, these words seem to float onto the paper. I write as I listen to the sounds of nature, as children laugh and the birds sing outside. Soon the day turns into night, and the sounds disappear into the darkness, where they are lost forever - until the daylight appears and the sun returns for another day.

Ah, I like counting on the fact that the sun will always appear, every morning. I like the comfort of knowing tht if nothing else in my day goes as I planned or I expected, at least the sun will arise, the birds will sing, and dew will appear on grass blades.

God, Your warm and gentle presence is enough to get me through the good and bad times.
