2007-01-08 - Daniel
Chapter 4 Verses 4-9: First, Nebuchadnezzar talked about how prosperous and comfortable he was at the time he started dreaming again. This may have been to create a contrast with what is to come. He was a pretty good writer.
And again, the dream caused him anxiety. Actually, he states that he was terrified - which is quite a confession for the supreme ruler to make to the people he ruled. But he had learned one thing: He needed to understand the content of the message God was sending him. But he hadn't learned everything. He first sent for his wise men. But as usual they couldn't interpret his dream. Then he sent for Daniel, which I thought would have been Step Number One.
Oh well - some people are slow learners.
To be continued.
