2006-10-10 - Good Sense
It had been a long, long day. I've been given a lot of new responsibilities and as I think I'm getting a grip on them even more has been put on me. Honestly, after the day I've had today I just felt like going home and going to bed to wallow in doubt. However, I had to go to church for the seventh week of a sixteen week bible study on evangelism. I was not looking forward to it. I thought of plenty excuses to bail on it and debated whether to stay home or go. In the end, I decided to go. There were a few missing from the group, but I'm glad I wasn't one of them.
It's hard to explain because only one of the guys even had a small clue about how my day had been but just being with them made me feel better. We shared some food, discussed the lesson, and talked about other stuff. When I left I just felt better. It's because of my time within the church and with small groups like this that make my time in the world more pleasant or at least more bearable.
Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) - And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Scripture just makes sense. That's the funny thing about truth. If you're exposed to it enough it just begins to make good sense and, BAM, it just clicks and you see it for what it is. The best way to reach the people around you is not to yell and scream at them about their sin but just to share with them the wisdom that is found in truth. Jesus is the Truth. Just share the good sense that is in his word and trust him to draw them in further.
Acts 6:10 - And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
