2006-09-05 - Finding the
Obvious
God never wants us to give up. Often something unexpected will happen in
life and encourage us. Then there are the moments when the answer is right
in front of you.
Psalm 71:21 (NIV) You will increase my honor and comfort
me once again.
Psalm 119:50 (NIV) My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.
It was a quiet day on the sea. There were no other boats sailing around,
so the little vessel had no one to talk to. It looked to the left, then to
the right; there was nothing in sight. Then the boat looked down. He saw
some fish swimming away. The boat looked up and noticed things he had never
noticed before. There were tons of fuzzy white blobs in the sky. All took
on different shapes and sizes. The vessel was so caught up in looking at
the sky, that he didn't notice a sailboat speeding by.
"Some nice clouds today, huh?" the sailboat asked.
The vessel looked puzzled. "Clouds?"
"Yeah," answered the sailboat. "They all look like puffy piles of snow, don't
they?"
The sailboat pointed to the white designs the vessel had been staring at.
"Are they here every day?" the little boat inquired.
"You never know," the sailboat answered as she glided away.
"Clouds. Now that sounds like a nice way to pass the time."
Lord, You did not create me to continue living in despair.
You have a great plan and purpose for my life. I ask that you will clearly
show me what should be my next step. Thank you God for not abandoning me.
In Your son's name I pray, Amen.
