2006-05-30 - Tabernacle Builders
Exodus 35:30-36:2 (NCV) Then Moses said to the Israelites,
"Look, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri the son of Hur, from the tribe
of Judah. 31 The Lord has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God
and has given him the skill, ability, and knowledge to do all kinds of work.
32 He is able to design pieces to be made of gold, silver, and
bronze, 33 to cut stones and jewels and put them in metal, to
carve wood, and to do all kinds of work. Also, the Lord has given Bezalel
and Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach from the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach
others. 35 The Lord has given them the skill to do all kinds of
work. They are able to cut designs in metal and stone. They can plan and
sew designs in the fine linen with the blue, purple, and red thread. And
they are also able to weave things. 1 So Bezalel, Oholiab, and
every skilled person will do the work the Lord has commanded, because he
gave them the wisdom and understanding to do all the skilled work needed
to build the Holy Tent." 2 Then Moses called Bezalel, Oholiab,
and all the other skilled people to whom the Lord had given skills, and they
came because they wanted to help with the work.
God wanted a tabernacle built so years before he gave. God knew he would
need metal and fabric artisans so he fashioned Bezalel in the womb of Uri's
wife and two other boys, a second Bezalel and Oholiab, in the womb of Ahisamach's
wife. God instilled abilities in each of them. He created them for this very
purpose. No matter what the task is that God desires to be done, he has given
someone the ability to do it. And, if it's something that needs to be done
in mass or repeatedly, he gives the ability to teach others to help or follow.
He has a purpose for each and every one of his children. This includes you
if you have ever repented of your sin and confessed Jesus as the Savior who
died for you and the resurrected and still living Lord.
But it's up to you. You must have a desire to work. Ask God to reveal your
purpose and be willing to serve him.
God, I know you made me in my mom's womb and gave me
the abilities that I have so that I could fulfill the work you would want
done one day. Show me day by day what that work is for that day and give
me the strength to use my ability toi serve you faithfully in this life.
I love you God. You are truly amazing in how you would choose to use me and
let me stumble through a task rather than doing it right the first time by
yourself. Thanks for letting me work with you. Help me not to get discouraged
but to keep fighting the good fight and tackling each task and building on
every opportunity you bless me with. Thank you Jesus. Amen
