2005-01-30 - It's Simple to be
Saved
Hey my friends,
I want to tell you today, that salvation really is simple; however, it's
not cheap. It cost Jesus Christ everything so that salvation could be offered
to us freely. God has provided salvation on a basis which makes it available
to anyone who wants it. If salvation could be received on the basis of education,
multitudes would be left out. If eternal life could be had on the basis of
wealth, a great multitude would still be left out. If being saved were dependent
upon one's moral perfection, everyone would fall short. God has made His
salvation available on the basis of a personal faith which even a child can
exercise. This way, everyone is viewed on the same level in Gods eyes.
All must come to Him on the same terms, Paul said,
"9 What then? Are we better than they? Not
at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are
all under sin. 10 As it is written: 'There is none righteous,
no, not one.'" Romans 3:9,10 - NKJV
Paul said, "8 For by grace you have been saved
through faith;and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, 9
not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 - NKJV
Paul said, "16 For I am not ashamed of the
gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who
believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." Romans 1:16 - NKJV
How Simple Is It To Be Saved?
One thing's for sure. We don't call the Gecko Insurance Company; they can
only save you 20% or more on car insurance. We can't get assurance of eternal
life through them. :-)
-
It's as simple as entering a door. Jesus said, "I am the
door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved." John 10:9a - NKJV
-
Its as simple as calling for help. "For 'whoever calls
on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' " Romans 10:13
-
It's as simple as coming when called. Jesus said, "Come
to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28
-
It's as simple as receiving a gift. "For the wages of
sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 6:23
-
It's as simple as drinking water. Jesus said, "but whoever
drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water
that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water, springing up
into everlasting life." John 4:14
-
It's as simple as eating bread. "I am the living bread
which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever;
and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life
of the world." John 6:51
-
It's as simple as believing God. "Most assuredly, I say
to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." John 6:47
Many people stumble at the simplicity of salvation. They often feel that
they must do something to earn or deserve such a wonderful offer. Yes, something
had to be done so that salvation could be offered to us freely, but Jesus
did it all. All we must do is believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins
and rose again, and then receive Him into our hearts.
Why not make that all-important decision, which will transform your life
and bring you into a right relationship with God? It's simple, and it works.
It's Simply Up To you!
Are you willing to settle the matter of eternal destiny? Will you do it?
You can, right this moment.
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus,
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will
be saved." Romans 10:9
You can pray and talk to God right now, and settle this decision right here.
Pray this simple prayer.
"Dear God, I admit I am a sinner, going to Hell. I know that I cannot save
myself. I repent of my sins, and put my faith in the blood that you shed
for me on the cross, to pay for all my sins. I accept you as my Savior and
trust you to take me to Heaven. Thank you for saving me today. Amen."
My friend, e-mail me and let me know if you have decided to trust Jesus Christ
as your Savior today. And if you did, I want you to find a Bible-believing
church, and go and make it public that you were saved today. If you need
assistance in locating a church near you, I would be happy to assist you
in finding one.
God bless you my friends!
In Christ,
Rob
