2004-11-13 - Venus Flytrap

Hello friends,

Can you imagine yourself stuck inside a giant Venus Flytrap? Every time you move, you touch a small hair that causes the trap to close on you a little more and releases digestive juices on you. The more you struggle, the more trapped you become. Someone would have to rescue you, or you would die!

Did you know that's how the Bible describes sin (the bad things we do)? When we do something we know we shouldn't, the Bible says that we've fallen into the "trap of the devil."(1) Satan (the devil) is like a giant Venus Flytrap. When we fall into his trap, our sin "entangles" us, and there is nothing we can do to free ourselves. (2) But God loves us so much that He made a way to free us from Satan's web. He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross, then rise to life again to break the power of sin. If we repent of our sins, we can ask Jesus to come into our lives and free us.

Would you like to be free of Satan's trap? You can ask God to save you today. Just say to Him with all your heart:

Dear God, I'm sorry for the wrong things I've done. Thank you for sending Jesus to free me from my sin. Please come into my life and help me live for You. Amen.

My friend, if you have asked Jesus into your life, you need to get a good English translation of the Bible and begin reading it. Also, most importantly, find a Bible believing Church, get involved there, and let the pastor know that you just asked Jesus to be your Lord.
