2004-09-04 - Are you Saved?
Hey My Christian Brothers and Sisters,
As the Apostle Paul said "I would not have you ignorant" Salvation is a gift,
and It comes through a personal relationship through Jesus Christ, by believing
in Him and trusting in the work that He has accomplished on the cross, and
the resurrection power that raised Him from the dead.
Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, and
no one comes to the Father except through me."
One of my favorite scriptures is Romans 1:16, it says: "For
I am not ashamed of the Gospel or His name (Jesus Christ) for it is the POWER
OF GOD unto salvation given to all who believe; first to the Jew and then
to the gentile."
God's character is all throughout the Bible.
God didn't make the way to Him so that we could lose it. He chose to forgive
us of our sins before they ever happened.
Hebrews 10:10-12 says:
And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice
of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Day after day
every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he
offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice
for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.
Once you become a Christian, you are no longer separated from God by sin.
All of your sins bring about debt, but that debt has been paid for. You do
not own yourself you are owned by Christ
1 Corinthians 7:22 A Servant who is owned by someone and
who has become a Christian is the Lord's free man. A free man who has become
a Christian is a servant owned by Christ. 23 He paid a great
price for you when He bought you. Do not let yourselves become servants owned
by men.
How many of your sins did he pay for? He paid for all of them. In the Old
Testament, God permitted divorce because of the hardness of hearts of men.
But He does not like divorce. He stands on His promises, He keeps his word.
He paid a great price. The price covered all of the sin of those who believe.
Malachi 2:16 For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates
divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence. Says the LORD of hosts.
"Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal
treacherously."
Jesus became the propitiation for our sin. We have been made holy and blameless
in God's sight because of Christ. If we are in a personal relationship with
Christ, then God has chosen to forgive us and John 3:16 says
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish, but have eternal
life."
God never says anything about divorcing anyone, or leaving anyone. He made
a promise; He keeps his promise. He said "I will never
leave you nor forsake you." How many people can run from God? Jonah
tried to run from God in the Old Testament. He only ran himself into a lot
of trouble, till He realized that the Lord loved him. "He
chastises those He loves" He doesn't break His promise.
To be continued.
