2004-05-29 - A Miracle in the
Making
Hello Friends,
In my last devotional I didn't give any commentary on the Virgin Birth. I
only gave you the scripture for the prophecy and fulfillment of it.
Today, I am going to share with you something important about it in a creative
way. I will start with a quote and riddle I found on the door of a reading
instructor at a community college.
When asked this riddle, 80% of Kindergarten kids got the answer, compared
to 17% of Stanford University Seniors:
What is greater than God, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the
rich need it, and if you eat it, you'll die?
Think about that and let me know what your answer is. I will tell you if
you got it right. And if you want to know the answer, let me know and I'll
tell you.
I say this in light of the miracles that Jesus performed. If asked which
is the first miracle that Jesus performed, most of us would say that Jesus
turning water into wine was the first miracle that Jesus performed.
In reality it comes down to a few others to choose from:
-
Just the fact that He is who He says He is.
-
Creation
-
The Virgin Birth - God manifests Himself as the divine human or the (God-Man).
-
The Death, Burial and Resurrection, Paying for the sins of all who believe,
ascending to the right hand of the Father, and making intercession for His
own. This planned before the foundation of the world.
I think in light of all of that, we can say that nothing is greater
than our God
If you have any questions about the above and how they apply to your
life today, email me.
God Bless You,
Rob
