Life
The Meaning of Life Series, Part 4
Life Comes From Pleasing God. We can only love God and others, if our concern
is pleasing the Father, as we ask ourselves: What would Jesus do? Here, then,
is how we can truly live the abundant life. We can have a life full of the
blessings of loving God, by allowing His love to flow to those around us,
not fearing the pain we may receive in response.
Jesus is our model of true love, agape. He gave His life for mankind, knowing
His sacrifice would be rejected by many. He loved Judas, knowing this disciple
would betray him. He didn't strive to protect Himself from the pain of the
actions of others. No, he died that they might have life and have it abundantly.
And so we are to live our lives for others, so they, too, might know the
love of God through us. As we live in the midst of the reality that life
comes from God, as we love Him and each other, His light shows through us
to others.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have
loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you
are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35).
As we live only for the Lord, then others may also come to know Him.
