02-28-2004 - Why I Love People

Hey my friends, and any new readers! I hope that you will become my friend as well.

In previous devotionals, I have driven home the message that God says that we are all sinners, and that because of our sin, we are condemned go to Hell - that no matter what works we do to try to save ourselves, our works are sin and lead only to death and finally, that Jesus died on the cross as the once-for-all sacrifice to pay for all sin. He was resurrected from the dead and sits at the right hand of the Father; He offers eternal life to all that believe in Him and confess that He is Lord.

Today I want to share why I share this Gospel "Good News" message with you. Every one of us knows how to love a family member and give good gifts to them. And if there are some of you out there who don't know how to, I pray for you, that you will learn. I didn't know how either; I learned as well. So I understand where you are at. Let me start by giving a parable of my own.

There was a man who was poor, and the king of the land came and had compassion on him. The king offered the man new life, and the man accepted. The king cleaned up the man, gave him $1,000,000.00, provided the man with a new life and brought him to live on the king's estate. The king told the man to report to the king in his court, when the man had settled his family. The man reported to the king in his court, where the king said, "I have compassion on the poor, and I want them to be a part of my eternal kingdom, just as I have given you new life today. Now this is the work I give you to do. I will give you $1,000,000.00 dollars, and you are to go find another person that is as you were. When you find a person, tell him, 'I have been sent by the king to offer you his love and new life.' If the person rejects you, seek another person and do the same. When you find a person who accepts my love and new life, give him the $1,000,000.00 dollars and bring him to me, rejoicing. When you return, I will give you another $1,000,000.00, and I will send you out to find another person."

Dearest friend, this is why I tell you about knowing Jesus Christ in a personal relationship. The work Jesus did on the cross opened up the opportunity for us to accept Him and receive abundant new life in Him and the promise to live with Him eternally. He has compassion on us, and he is offering us new life. This Jesus Christ is worth more than $1,000,000.00. I have received him, and have been told to share Him with you. He had compassion on me and taught me to have compassion on you, by offering His compassion to you.
