We are to praise God often; even when we suffer (and I myself have none to
comparably speak of), it can bring praise to Him! I know that I myself I
need to praise God more often!
Psa 7:17 (NRSV) I will give to the LORD the thanks due
to His righteousness, and sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most
High.
Psa 22:22 (NRSV) I will tell of Your name to my brothers
and sisters; in the midst of the congregation I will praise You.
Psa 34:1 (NRSV) I will bless the LORD at all times; His
praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psa 43:5 (NRSV) Why are you cast down, O my soul, and
why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him,
My Help and My God.
Psa 150:2 (NRSV) Praise Him for his mighty deeds; praise
Him according to His surpassing greatness!
Rom 14:10-11 (NRSV) Why do you pass judgment on your brother
or sister? Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will
all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For it is written, "As I live,
says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall give praise
to God."
Eph 1:11-12 (NRSV) In Christ we have also obtained an
inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of Him who
accomplishes all things according to His counsel and will, 12 so that we,
who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of
His glory.
Phil 1:9-11 (NRSV) And this is my prayer, that your love
may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight 10 to help you
to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and
blameless, 11 having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through
Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.
James 5:13 (NRSV) Are any among you suffering? They should
pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise.
1 Pet 1:6-7 (NRSV) In this you rejoice, even if now for
a little while you have had to suffer various trials, 7 so that the genuineness
of your faith--being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is
tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when
Jesus Christ is revealed.
