2003-03-27 - Time with Christ
In our daily lives we should have a burning desire to be with the Lord. We
should want to learn as much as we can about the Lord. But some times we
don't all have that desire. In Mark 1: 35-39, it says that Jesus leaves the
group he is in very early in the morning and goes to a solitary place to
pray. He knew that not even prayer was more important than sleep. Often times
we tell ourselves that God is always there, always with us, and He can wait.
If we choose to sleep instead of praying, it won't matter, because God isn't
going anywhere.
That may be true, that God is not going anywhere, He will always be there
to listen to what you have to say, and He will always be there to help you.
I believe that one of the highest points in our faith walks is the point
at which you have to have time with God. Without it, you feel hungry, tired,
and weary. It's almost as though you were addicted to the Lord. It may sound
weird to say that you are addicted to the Lord and you can't make it through
the day without Him, but I think that is one of the best points in our walks
with Christ that we can be.
I pray that you all can one day reach that point, i pray that someday I will
reach that point also. When your that close to God, His light shines through
you to the world, and there's nothing you can do about it. In my opinion,
that's a good place to be, a good thing to have.
