Hi everyone. As we all know, the Lord wants us to turn to Him in prayer with all kinds of requests. In light of this being the week of the National Day of Prayer (Thursday), today's devotional verses are about prayer. : )

Prov 15:29 (NIV) The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Mat 21:20-22 (NIV) When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked. 21 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

John 17:17-19 (NIV) Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

Acts 2:42 (NIV) They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Rom 10:1 (NIV) Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

Rom 12:12 (NIV) Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Phil 1:9 (NIV) And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,

Phil 4:6 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Col 4:2 (NIV) Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

James 5:16 (NIV) Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Mat 6:7-16 (NRSV) "When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 "Pray then in this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one. 14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
